Spinx Updates Regarding COVID-19

To our friends, neighbors and teammates:

Just like you, we have been following closely the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). At Spinx, we have been consulting with public health and safety experts and following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in how to combat the spread of this virus.

In our industry is essential that we stay open to provide necessary supplies for everyday life. We are committed to staying open for business and have taken the following steps to make sure that our stores are safe for our friends, neighbors and teammates.

• Increased frequency of hand-washing and use hand sanitizer in between.
• Making available hand sanitizer at our pumps, inside of our stores and at the cash registers.
• Doubled the frequency of disinfecting high-traffic areas of our stores including, but not limited to door handles, pump handles, counter tops, kiosks and other surfaces.

COVID-19 brings a great deal of uncertainty. Since 1972 we have been committed to Making Life Easier, and that remains true even in difficult times. We’ve faced many challenges throughout the last 48 years, and we believe that we can get through these trying times by being good neighbors.

Please be certain that safety for all is our number one priority. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call us at 864-233-5421.

Thank you,

Steve Spinks, CEO
The Spinx Company, Inc.

Cleaning Practices in the Stores - Until Further Notice

The following guidelines have been implemented in all Spinx locations.

  • Increase the frequency for washing your hands to as frequent as possible and after breaks or changing job tasks. Also, after using the restroom, before and after eating, smoking or drinking and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose or touching your face. Between Raw Foods and Ready-to-Eat foods and after handling soiled equipment or utensils. Before putting on and in between glove changes. Before handling food and after handling garbage or cleaning supplies. After handling money or using the phone.  NOTE: Minimum hand washing time 20 seconds.
  • Have sanitizer available for customers use at checkout.
  • Use an approved sanitizer in between hand washing cycles.
  • Clean all touch and contact surfaces a minimum of once every 2 hours, this includes but not limited to MPD nozzles, MPD screens, coinbox screens,  doors, seating areas, countertops, beverage equipment, restrooms, food service work surfaces, cash registers, lottery terminals, ATM, change dispensers, food service ordering kiosks, time clock, back office equipment, and handhelds.
  • Contact your Territory Manager if you are experiencing a shortage of cleaning and sanitation supplies.
  • If a teammate in one of our store’s tests positive for COVID-19, we will quarantine them immediately, identify all teammates who work in the store and quarantine those as well.  We will then close the store to the public and call in a professional third party COVID cleaning and sanitizing company.  Once we verify the stores is safe to open, we will do so with a relief team.

For additional information, please visit the CDC and World Health Organization’s websites.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep our teammates informed.

Thank you!
