SPINX NAMED A TOP 15 ‘BEST PLACE TO WORK IN S.C.'

The Spinx Company, the Greenville S.C.-based fuel and convenience retail company with more than 82 locations, 45 car washes, and 1,400 associates statewide, was recently recognized at a reception in Columbia as the 12th Best Place to Work in South Carolina, within the ‘large company’ category. The 14th annual program was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.
Spinx was honored as one of 75 companies and experienced a record-breaking 96% percent response rate from its teammates for the survey-based awards program. This survey-and-awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the state of South Carolina, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses.
“I am absolutely thrilled that we have been recognized within the top 15 places to work in South Carolina,” stated Stewart Spinks, founder, and chair of the board for The Spinx Company. “With such an incredible response rate of 96%, I am honored that our teammates and the local community took the time to share their sentiments about the incredible work culture we’ve been building in recent years. It is a true testament to
the outstanding people we have here at Spinx and we look forward to continuing the momentum into the future.”
Spinx President, Stan Storti added, “Although I’m pleasantly surprised by the response rate, I’m not surprised by the outcome. I’ve witnessed an incredible cultural change over my 14 years with Spinx and especially in the last 5 years as we’ve put culture building processes around our core values. Spinx is an incredible place to work and we want our friends and neighbors to know, so that’s why we participated in this year’s program.”
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
▪ be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
▪ be a publicly or privately held business;
▪ have a facility in the state of South Carolina;
▪ have a minimum of 15 employees working in the state of South Carolina; and
▪ be in business a minimum of 1 year
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.
